Bengaluru, Nov 24: Poet L N Mukundraj, said that a call has been given for a state-wide jatha in the city on November 25 to show solidarity with Hamsalekha and to condemn the snatching away of the freedom of speech and expression granted to the Indians by the constitution.

In a release, he stated that November 26 has been chosen for the protest programme as it happens to be the constitution day and law day. The programme is being held under the banner of the Constitution Protection Integration Committee with the specific intention to ensure that the rally and convention should not be held in the personal names of any individual. None in the rally is a master or a servant. Everyone who wants to uphold the constitution and raise their voices whenever the aspirations of the constitutions face danger should become the leaders and servants of this committee, he added.

The rally will begin from near the main railway station at Majestic in the city at 11 am on November 26. It will move to the Freedom Park. All the Dalit and backward classes organizations will participate in the rally which will culminate at the Freedom Park with a convention. "Lets us back Hamsalekha, Sandalwood veteran, who raised voice against untouchability, casteism and removed the facade covering the falsehood of the Brahmins," he stated.
