Bengaluru, Dec 4: JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda, clarified that his statement about the administration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was made on Thursday December 2 has been assimilated in a wrong way. He said he is very much hurt by this misinterpretation.

He was clarifying on news items which claimed that Deve Gowda had, when addressing an electoral meeting at Shidlaghatta, Chikkaballapur district, had said that Modi's government is wretched. Clarifying the position on Friday, Deve Gowda said that the relationship he shares with Narendra Modi is beyond the realm of petty politics.

"I have never issued any derogatory statement about Modi or his government. Referring to the repeated claims of the Congress leaders that the state is ruled by a wretched government, I had questioned them who were responsible for this to happen. My words were wrongly interpreted and I hereby reiterate that I have never spoken ill of Narendra Modi," Gowda explained.
