Education minister calls upon people to follow Ambedkar’s teachings

Bengaluru, Dec 6: Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh called upon the people, especially the younger generation, to strive hard through their studies and achievements to serve mankind while following the ideals and teachings of the architect of Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar.

Paying homage to Dr Ambedkar by garlanding his statue in front of Vidhana Soudha on Monday, the minister said Ambedkar believed in equality, fraternity and a society committed to the welfare of all sections.

The Constitution is the basic foundation of the Indian democracy, he said the principles and values enshrined in our Constitution are most noble.

The minister said the Union and State Governments have been implementing programmes and welfare schemes for the benefit of all sections of society, especially the downtrodden and oppressed classes.

Social Welfare and Backward Classes Minister Kota Srinivsa Poojary, Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar and other dignitaries attended the function.
