Mangaluru: Beach cleanship drive held as part of Puneet Sagar Abhiyan

Mangaluru, Dec 6: As part of Puneet Sagar Abhiyan, beach cleanship drive for clearing of plastic waste and other waste was carried out on Monday December 6 at Tannirbhavi Beach by cadets of 5 Karnataka Naval Unit NCC.

A total of 90 NCC cadets from St Aloysius College, Mangaluru and Cascia High School, Mangaluru, participated in the event . Associate NCC officers of both these institutions along with two service staff of the 5 Naval NCC unit participated in the event.

This is the prime minister's cleanship drive which will be conducted in the month of December 2021 - Puneeth Sagar Abhiyan, to clear beach from plastic waste and create awareness amongst the local population about the importance

Since this abhiyan is to clear plastic waste, gunny bags are used to collect the garbage instead of plastic gash bag.
