Udupi, Dec 7: The court of the chief judicial magistrate and JMFC court which conducted hearing into an accident case, found a driver guilty of causing the death of two persons due to defective driving. The accused Yohan, was found guilty and sentenced to six months imprisonment.

Judge of the court, Deepa, passed the judgement on Monday December 6 after getting satisfied about the genuineness of the charges levelled with the help of evidences.

The then Brahmavar police circle inspector, Arun B Nayak, had conducted an investigation and filed the charge sheet. Senior assistant public prosecutor, Badrinath Nairy, had argued the case on behalf of the prosecution.

In the year 2015, Yohan reportedly was driving a car towards Hiriadka from the direction of Perdoor at high speed when the car had hit a woman, Saraswai and two girls, Dithi and Tejaswi from behind near the gate of Hiriadka college when they were crossing the road. Saraswati and Dithi had died in the accident and Tejaswi had suffered grave injuries. A complaint about the accident had been filed in Hiriadka police station.
