Mangaluru: Free medical camps held at SCS Hospital

Mangaluru, Dec 7: Free bone mineral density check camp was held on December 4 at SCS Hospital. The camp was conducted for the general public. Over 90 people got their bone mineral density checked and benefitted from the camp. The camp was presided over by the senior doctors who counseled the patients regarding the condition of their bones, preventive measures to avoid osteoporosis, medication management, diet and the lifestyle changes to be made to promote bone health.

This camp was followed by a free neuropathy level detection camp on the December 5. The camp was a success and over 60 people were assessed for the level of nerve damage. The camp has benefited a large number of diabetics who were identified for nerve damages at the early stage and interventions to the same were suggested to them.

SCS Hospital has been conducting such free camps from the past 34 years with the aim to promote good health and to aid in early detection and to provide interventions in terms of treatment to the people.
