Mangaluru, Dec 7: BJP spokesperson Jagadish Shenava said that the BJP is prepared tpo face the MLC elections.

Addressing media on Tuesday December 7, he said, “We have completed all the preparations ahead of the MLC elections. We have close to 5,000 voters. Under the district president, we have organised convention for our voters except Mangaluru North and South constituency which will soon be completed.

“Earlier, we have seen over 300 BJP votes getting wasted. This time we will ensure our votes will not be wasted. We believe we will get additional 17% votes other than the BJP votes as our candidate is Kota Srinivas Poojary who is termed as the encyclopaedia of Panchayat Raj,” he said.

He further said, “Dakshina Kannada is witnessing lot of untoward incidents like Kavoor cow theft, student clash at Gujjarakere, desecration of Nagabana and many more.

“Even though the police managed to arrest the culprit in all cases, we demand in-depth probe to see whoever involved in the case is arrested. Police should take stringent action against those who disturb harmony in the society

“We suspect political conspiracy in the untoward incidents. There is no failure on the part of the government. To defame our good work, we suspect conspiracy from opposition like Congress and SDPI,” he said.

He also said, “We condemn the assault of Hindu activist at Uppinangady. We expect the police to take action so that it will not repeat again.”
