Bengaluru, Dec 11: Close on the heels of a massive corruption scam unearthed by the State’s Anti-Corruption Bureau in the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) recently, the State Government will bring all BDA services to citizens under the Jansevak Scheme soon.

This was announced by Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The Jansevak scheme covers as many as 79 essential services from issuing Aadhaar Cards to land holding record of rights, health cards, biometric data updation, income and caste certificates and bonafide documents etc, which will be delivered to the doorsteps of citizens. A maximum time limit of 21 days has been fixed for the delivery of Jansevak services.

Dr Ashwath Narayan, who represents the Malleswaram assembly constituency in the city, was addressing a function to release a booklet on the Jansevak scheme.

When the citizens demanded that BDA services must also be included under the purview of the Jansevak scheme in order avoid unnecessary delays and hassles in visiting the Authority’s office, the minister promised to discuss the issue with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and a decision will be taken soon.

Dr Narayan said the citizens do not need to visit government offices or approach agents and middlemen to avail the Jansevak scheme by making prescribed fees online and the required documents pertaining to the services requested will be delivered to the doorsteps of citizens.

The citizens have to make digital payments of the prescribed fees by the government and the Jansevak charges for obtaining the documents, B N Varaprasad Reddy, Project Administrator, explained.

The Jansevak scheme will be extended to the entire city soon, the minister said.
