Mangaluru: Shri Kadri award conferred on Kateel Mela artiste Ramesh Bhat

Mangaluru, Dec 13: Artiste of Kateel Mela Ramesh Bhat Bayaru was conferred with Shri Kadri award.

Speaking on the occasion, hereditary priest of Kateel temple, Kamaladevi Prasada Asranna said, “Yakshagana is the most loving offering for Kateel Devi. This award is rightly bestowed on Ramesh Bhat, who has given life to the character of Devi.”

City police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said, “It is really a noble deed of identifying and honouring an artiste, who has donned Devi role in Yakshagana 2000 times. This district is known for culture. I feel happy to have got an opportunity to work here.”

Hereditary priest of temple Sriharinarayana Asranna and MLA Vedavyas Kamath also spoke on the occasion.

Sevakarta Kunjathodi Vasudeva Bhat, president of Kadri Yakshakoota Ramachandra Bhat Ellooru, secretary of journalists’ association Jitendra Kundeshwara, member of Dharmika Parishad Giriprakash Tantri, MCC corporators Shakila Kava, Sangeeta Nayak, Manohar Shetty, Shanthibhavana Raviraj Bhat, Deepa K S, Ruthvik Alevooraya and Samhita Alevooraya were present.
