Udupi: Hostel security staff arrested for sexually harassing boy

Udupi, Dec 13: Reportedly, a security personnel of a government hostel was arrested by the police personnel of the women's police station here. There was allegation of the security staff having sexually harassed a student staying in government hostel located within the limits of Manipal police station.

The arrested accused happens to be Jagannath (54). It is said that the child protection unit here had received a complaint that he had sexually harassed a tenth standard student.

The officials registered a complaint in the women's police station under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested the accused. He was produced in the court whereupon he was remanded to judicial custody.
