Beltangady, Dec 14: Lakshmeesha (16), a resident of Perike in Shashila village in the taluk, who was studying in SSLC this year, ended his life on Sunday December 12.

Lakshmeesha was the son of Ningappa Gowda from Perike. He was a student of the government high school. As the school was closed on Sunday, he was alone at home. When his mother, who went out on work, returned home in the evening, she saw that the boy had hanged himself from the roof beam.

Dharmasthala police have registered a case. Reason for taking this extreme step could not be ascertained immediately as the family could not throw light on this issue.
