Mumbai, Dec 15: Shivas Hair Designers Private Limited managing director, founder president of Gulabi Krishna Bhandary Charitable Trust Dr Shivarama Bhandary released the book in English titled ‘Jaya C Suvarna’ written by former president of Billavara association Nithyananda D Kotian at the Mumbai university Kannada department auditorium, Santa Cruz east recently. Dr Bhandary spoke commending the book on the life of Jaya Suvarna.

Professor and head of the department of Kannada in the university, Dr G N Upadhya presided over the programme. President of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra, Rons Bantwal was the Chief guest. Author Kolyaru Raju Shetty was present as Guest of honor.

The research work on the life and writings of Kolyaru Raju Shetty by Kannada department M A rank holder student Parvati Sudhaker selected for the late M B Kukyan gold medal was handed over to the Kannada department. Meanwhile Dr Bhandary released the book of selected articles by Dr G N Upadhya.

Rons Bantwal commended the work of the Kannada department and the support provided to Kannada students in it. He spoke about his duty to the society and the achievements of Dr Shivarama Bhandary. Author Nithyananda Kotian spoke about his rapport with Jaya Suvarna.

Rons Bantwal handed over the amount of fellowship donated by Gulabi Krishna Bhandary Charitable trust trustee Anushree Bhandary to Kannada department research student Jaya C Salian and the amount donated by businessman Ramanand Salian Aliyoor to Anita P Takode.

Parvati Poojary presented the book on Kolyaru Raju Shetty to the Mumbai University. Gold medallist Parvati Poojary and Kala Bhagwath presented the Dr Upadhya book to research students Nalina Prasad and Anita P Takode and honored them.

Jamila Banu, Savita Arun Shetty and Laxmi Rathod were present. Kala Bhagwath sang a welcome song. Prathibha Rao rendered a vote of thanks.
