Mysuru: Civic worker who entered manhole killed

Mysuru, Dec 21: A civic worker named Madhu (27), who entered a manhole without any equipment, turned very ill and died three days later in a hospital. He was working for Periyapatna municipality in the district.

Nagaratna, an Anganwadi teacher, had asked three civic workers to clean up the manhole at the residence of Vijayendra in the town. Madhu encountered extreme difficulty in breathing after entering the manhole. He was admitted into a private hospital at Mysuru. But without responding to efforts made to save his life, Madhu died on Monday December 20 morning.
