Brahmavar, Dec 22: An aged man was killed in an accident which happened near Kudli Cross in Barkur near here on Tuesday December 21. The victim was U B Prabhakar Rao (80), a native of Yadthady village.
The car in question was moving towards Barkur from the direction of Mandarthi when the driver lost control over it. The car which was negotiating a sloped road with sharp bends, hurtled down, hit a telephone pole and then turned turtle in a thicket.
Rao, who was seated in the back seat, lost his life on the spot. His wife, Usha P Rao, who was seated by his side, suffered injuries. The driver and Vishwaprasad Rao seated by his side escaped unhurt.
Prabhakar Rao, who resides in Bengaluru, was on a visit to his ancestral home at Yadthady. The accident happened when the family members were returning to Mysuru.
Brahmavar police, who have registered case, are investigating.
