Mangaluru, Dec 23: Firemen belonging to the fire brigade at Kadri, on Wednesday December 22, rescued a child that was trapped inside a flat in an apartment complex in the city.

At about 7.30 am on Wednesday, the parents of the child had left, leaving their one-year-old child with its grandmother. The grandmother was undertaking cleaning work by coming out of the flat. She had slid the glass door of the flat inside to ensure the child's safety. But the glass door got locked.

Developing cold feet, she informed the people living in the neighbouring flat, after which the fire brigade was contacted. Four personnel of the fire brigade visited the apartment complex, reached the sixth floor, and then by using a rope, climbed down to the fourth floor and rescued the child.
