Mangaluru: Children with special needs enjoy at Christmas party held at The Bharath Academy

Media Release

Mangaluru, Dec 31: The Bharath Academy in association with Special Parents Support Group organised a community outreach programme, 'A Special Christmas Party 2021' on December 26 at The Bharath Academy grounds, Blueberry Hills, Yeyyadi Road here. The event was a programme for children with special needs.

The Special Parents Support Group was formed to bring special families closer, to form a network of support system, help and support one another and bring the special children to the forefront and try and get them equal opportunities in the society.

Many special families from all over Mangaluru gathered for the event. They had fun-filled games like passing the parcel, musical chairs etc for the lovely children and families. Carol singing by some of the siblings and volunteers set the Christmas mood going. The Santa made a special visit and gave Santa gifts to all the special ones. There was music, dancing and lots of fun. It was wonderful to see the special children roaming around without fear, playing and laughing. Also the parents could relax and get to know one another.

Meena Noronha, mother of a 24-year-old son having autism and the founder of the Special Parents Support Group hosted the event and conducted games.

Parents were given a chance to give ideas and suggestion. They had a yummy cake donated by a wonderful baker and the cake cutting ceremony by the special kids was the highlight. Snacks and juice was served and the party mood set.

The mission of the Special Parents Support Group, to spread happiness into special lives was served. It was wonderful to see the smiling faces of the children and parents too. Before they bid good bye to everyone, they promised to meet again and have many more such events in future.
