Mangaluru: Arogya Kavacha 108 – Ambulance service for New Year’s Eve celebration

Mangaluru, Jan 1: 108 Arogya Kavacha ambulance service is geared up throughout the state in order to prevent the loss of life that might occur during New Year’s Eve celebrations. 

Compared to other days 30 to 35% more accidents take place during New Year’s Eve celebration. Additional ambulances will be deployed in areas where more emergencies are expected. The leave of ambulance staff is cancelled to keep more personnel in reserve. As a precaution all ambulances have fuel, oxygen and medical equipment.

In the district 28 ambulances with expert personnel are ready. District manager Manish said that public can call 108 toll free number in case of emergencies.

The 108 ambulance service has close contact with state police department. It shares the information of death and injuries with police, fire service personnel and health departments.
