Kundapur, Jan 1: Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, speaker of the Karnataka assembly visited Dr Shivarama Karanth theme park and watched the layout and activities at the park.

He said that veteran achievers should always be remembered if the society should remain creative. “Dr Karanth remained firm to his ideals with straight talk. He showcased the beauty of villages through novels and art. The way that he experienced Yakshagana appears alive in front of our eyes. The work done by the Karanth foundation in his memory is commendable. The government will always cooperate in the work,” he said.

Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri was felicitated on the occasion. Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Udupi deputy commissioner Kurma M Rao, Kundapur assistant commissioner Raju, Brahmavar tahsildar Rajashekaramurthi, Kotathattu gram panchayat president Ashwini Dinesh, vice president Vasu Poojary, Kodi gram panchayat president Prabhaker Mendon, Saligram panchayat vice president Anusuya Herle, Karanth foundation member Subraya Acharya, Susheela Somashekar and others were present.

Karanth theme park in charge Poornima welcomed and compered the programme.
