Udupi: Blue Boys Friends celebrates their anniversary at Spandana Rehabilitation Center

Udupi, Jan 2: Blue Boys Friends Edabettu-Kallianpur, celebrated their seventh year anniversary and held a New Year programme at Spandana, Vocational Rehabilitation Center for mentally challenged persons at Uppoor.

Krishna Devadiga, president, Kallianpur gram panchayat, Satish Nayak, former panchayat president, Ramesh Nayak, Rakshith Poojary, Vishwanath Nayak, police personnel, Janardhan, founder of the center, Vivek, president of the institution and Shamith, vice president were present.

"During the new year celebration, youths are keeping themselves busy in parties and pubs. But Blue Boys Friends have organized such meaningful programme with God's children. This is really appreciated,” said Krishna Devadiga.

As part of social service, the team extended financial assistance to a needy child Dhanvith.

Sanjana, who secured highest marks in SSLC examination, was felicitated by the Blue Boys Friends.

Umesh, a local was also honoured.

A lucky dip draw was held and prizes were distributed to the winners.

A meal was arranged for the special children. Dignitaries of the village joined in the event.

The Blue Boys Friends had a fun-filled evening with the children. The programme was lauded by all.
