Mangaluru: Asranna Samsarane, award ceremony held

Mangaluru, Jan 4: Yaksha Pratibhe R held programme in memory of Gopalkrishna Asranna at Mangaladevi temple.

Balipa Prasad Bhat was awarded the Balipa award. Mayor Premananda Shetty was felicitated on the occasion. Vedamurthi Kadri Srikrishna Adiga was honoured. Comedian Vijaya Kumar Shetty was given Yaksha Sammana and Dhanvith Suvarna Kateel was awarded Bala Pratibhe.

Laxminarayana Asranna gave the blessings and said, “Yakshagana is attracting younger generation now. Gopalkrishna Asranna gave his life for Yakshagana. Sanjay Kumar Shetty is memorizing his contribution in nice manner in the city.”

Ravi Alevooraya Varkady did the congratulatory speech. Sudarshan Moodbidri, BJP district president presided over the ceremony.

Vedavyasa Kamath, Harikrishna Punaroor, Kishor Alva, Sathish Shetty, Ramanath P Hegde, Banumathi, Pradeep Kalukura, Sripathi Bhat, Raghavendra Rao, Prabhakar Suvarna, Bhuvanirama Udupa and Ravi Rai Fajeer were present.

Sanjay Kumar Gonibeedu welcomed the gathering. Mallik Adit Shetty compered the programme. ‘Sridevi Kadamba Kaushike’ Yakshagana play was presented.
