Udupi, Jan 6: A Surgical Oncology OPD will be starting at Dr TMA Pai Hospital in city from January 10 this year, announced Dr Shashikiran Umakanth, medical superintendent of the hospital. The new service will be available every Monday from 2 pm to 5 pm.
A team led by Dr Naveena Kumar A N, head, department of Surgical Oncology, Kasturba Hospital Manipal will be available for consultation and second opinion on all types of cancer, he said.
"Early detection of cancers and appropriate treatment in the early stages increases the chances of complete cure. With this new service, cancer treatment facility will be easily accessible to the people of Udupi and surrounding localities," he added.
