Bengaluru, Jan 6: State Congress Chief DK Shivakumar has urged Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to immediately withdraw the official government order on closure of bars, pubs, hotels, restaurants and resorts during the weekend curfew from Friday 10 pm till Monday 5 am throughout the State as it will affect the business, trade and livelihood of lakhs of people.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, copies of which have been released to the media, Shivakumar said the closure of the hotels, restaurants and other establishments will also affect people depending on them for their food besides seriously affecting the livelihood, business and trade.

The KPCC Chief has pointed out that US and many other countries which report over 2 lakh Covid cases daily have not taken such ‘’harsh and draconian’’ steps as Karnataka ordering closure of thousands of establishments throughout the State.
