Kasargod: Harassment of minor girl by elderly man - Case reopened

Kasargod, Jan 9: Police have reopened the case on a 69-year-old man on the accusation of harassing a girl. The re-inquiry is begun by the police on the orders of DIG. The inquiry team is led by DySP Balakrishnan Nair.

The police had received a complaint on harassment of girl by the elderly man a month and half ago. Mohammad Haji (69) was arrested on the same day under POCSO. When the files of the case were sent to DIG for verification, some doubts arose and re-inquiry was ordered. Police sources said that the victim girl changed her statement during re-investigation. Investigation is continuing further.

The father of the victim accused external forces for change in the statement of his daughter. The girl had reportedly contradicted her earlier statement in the presence of the magistrate.

The relatives of the accused try to meet the girl in her school. The police had recorded all the statements that were given by the girl earlier. Later, they had made some changes in it. The father of the victim said that he will raise this issue with chief minister of the state.

    The accused want to influence of some minister to twist off ?Typisch in India to use the influence of ministers .Hope the girl will tell the truth otherwise she will be suffering in future.
