Bengaluru: Minister S T Somshekhar’s son blackmail case - Police arrest two

Bengaluru, Jan 9: CCB police arrested two people in connection with the blackmail case of Nishant Someshekhar, son of cooperative minister S T Somshekhar.

The police arrested the main accused Rahul Bhat in the city and produced him before the court. He is remanded to five days of police custody. It is learnt that one more accused is apprehended by the police in Goa.

It is said that daughter of a MLA is involved in the blackmail case of Nishant. Police are on the hunt for the woman and another accused.

The accused sent a video to Nishant through WhatsApp in which a photo was edited to look like he is with a woman in a obscene position. In addition, they asked for a ransom of Rs one crore. Nishant Somshekhar duly filed a complaint with cyber crime police accusing that this video is done in order to harm the reputation of him and his father.

The police who registered the case were hunting for the accused. Rahul Bhat was arrested as he was returning from Dubai and one more accused from Goa. Search is on for two more accused in this case.
