Bantwal, Jan 10: MLA Rajesh Naik handed over Covid vaccines to the doctors and set in motion the taluk level programme of administering Covid booster doses at Bantwal taluk government hospital. Hospital medical officer Dr Pushpalatha, infant development project director Gayatri Kambali and others were present.

MLA Naik said that the booster doses are being administered all over the country from today. “As the Covid third wave is spreading rapidly, they are being given first to the frontline workers.”

“There are 3,400 frontline workers in Bantwal. Booster doses are being administered to them and about forty thousand senior citizens on priority. The vaccination programme will proceed uninterrupted. Most of the people have received first and second doses of vaccinations. The recent campaign of vaccinating teenagers between 15 to 18 years has achieved 100% success,” he said.
