Mysuru, Jan 11: In a macabre incident reported from Chakkodanahalli gram panchayat limits in H D Kote taluk in the district which happened on Sunday January 9, a young mother hacked her three-year-old son. The incident happened in Boodanuru village.

Bhavani (23) from the village murdered her three-year-old son, Srinivas. Between 2.30 and 3 pm on Sunday, she made her son to lie down on the cot before bringing down a hatchet on his head and neck. She then fled from the scene.

The neighbours who heard the shrieks of the child, came running and found that the baby was lying in a pool of blood. They took the baby to the government hospital in H D Kote before rushing him to K R Hospital Mysuru. However, the child's life could not be saved and the boy breathed his last the same night.

H D Kote town police who visited the spot, registered a case of murder against Bhavani and began hunting for her.

    What stage has human being come to. How can someone even imagine to do such a thing. She could have just abondoned the poor child.
