Udupi: Court employee becomes victim of online fraud

Udupi, Jan 12: Andanayya Hiremath, second division assistant of the senior civil court here, had made an effort to recharge his mobile phone through the PayTM app. However, his efforts failed.

He then searched Google and called customer care No. 8926099248. As advised during this call, he downloaded Anydesk app and provided his ATM and bank account details. He said that immediately thereafter, a total sum of Rs 43,399 was siphoned off from his two accounts with State Bank of India by unknown people.

On the basis of a complaint made by him, a case has been registered in the CEN police station.
