Bantwal, Jan 13: When a KSRTC bus was moving, its axle got snapped. Because of the presence of mind displayed by the driver, the passengers escaped unhurt. This incident happened at Bolangady near Kalladka on Wednesday January 12.

The said bus was on its way to Mangaluru from Puttur. When it reached Bolangady, the axle of the bus broke and the bus started to move on the extreme right edge of the road. The driver immediately made efforts to divert the bus to the left side of the road. The bus moved on the left side for about 200 meters before it came to a stop near Bolangady mosque.

The passengers were then sent by another bus. The passengers appreciated the presence of mind shown by the driver at a crucial moment.
