Karkala, Jan 13: After the driver of a car lost control over the vehicle, it hit a roadside tree and was badly mangled. The incident happened at Byana near Hebri on national highway 169A between Hebri and Udupi.
Five persons who were traveling by the car sustained grave injuries. They are Prashant M P, Satish Shetty, Raghavendra, Naveen and Abhishek. It is learnt that all of them are from Sringeri and they were bound for Udupi.
The injured were admitted into Manipal hospital. A case relating to the incident was registered in Hebri police station.
