Udupi, Jan 13: Udupi block Congress president Ramesh Kanchan condemned the government's move of registering a case against Congress workers for holding a protest condemning the alleged police atrocity against the Koraga community recently.

"The district administration has registered a false case against 22 Congress leaders for taking part in a protest organized by the district party wing demanding justice for the Koraga community. Though the BJP has organized several programmes violating the covid guideline in the district, no action has been taken," said Kanchan.

He alleged that a case was registered deliberately against those who raised their voice for the suppressed class. Ramesh Kanchan also condemned the district administration alleging that it had remained silent without registering a case against BJP despite violation of Covid norms by the party workers.

He also questioned the officers and the government if it was wrong to fight for the suppressed class.
