Mangaluru: Knocked down by car, Mumbai-based entrepreneur loses life

Mangaluru, Jan 14: A pedestrian was killed after a car hit him on national highway 66 at Haleangady. The pedestrian who suffered serious injuries in the accident, succumbed later at a hospital at Mukka near Haleangady.

The man whose life was taken away in the accident was Bhaskar Shetty (64), who operated a hotel in Mumbai. He was from Punaroor. Shetty was crossing the road on Thursday January 13 when a car that was speeding, hit him. Shetty fell to the road and suffered grave injuries. He was immediately admitted into a hospital but treatments failed to improve his health.

Relating to this incident, Mangaluru (north) police have registered a case against the car driver.
