Mysuru, Jan 14: The body of a young lady who had butchered her three-year-old son with a hatchet before disappearing all of a sudden, was found floating in a pond. The murder had happened in Boodanuru village, Chikkodanahalli gram panchayat limits in H D Kote taluk in the district on Sunday. The mother had made her son, Srinivas (3), to lie down on a cot before she killed him with a hatchet by hitting him in the head and neck.
The body of the child's mother, Bhavani (23) was found from Metikuppe pond on Thursday January 13. Her mortal remains were handed over to relatives after post-mortem.
After Bhavani left her son profusely bleeding, the neighbours had rushed Srinivas to hospital but efforts made to save his life had failed. The police had registered a case and they were hunting for Bhavani.
