Madikeri: Elephant attack takes away PU student's life

Madikeri, Jan 15: A student from Nelliahudikeri village in Kodagu district was killed in an elephant attack.

Ashiq (19), son of Khader and Sameera couple from Nalvathekre village within Nelliahudikeri was killed in the attack by a pachyderm. Another student, Asmil l (19), survived with injuries. Both were PU students of a private college in Siddapur.

The two had visited relatives living at Arekadu in a motorbike. When returning to Nalvathekre, an elephant suddenly entered the road from the coffee plantation nearby and attacked the two bike riders.
