Mangalore, Dec 17: In what can be termed as one of the most vindictive act, a three-year-old girl child was brutally killed by a couple in the name of black magic at Sharbatkatte, near Yeyyadi here on Friday December 17.

The deceased girl has been identified as Priyanka who was studying at KPT anganavadi, here. She is the daughter of Kiran Kumar Jha and Anjali Jha who basically hail from Bihar and were working in a small godown nearby.

Kamalaksha and Chandrakala were the couple responsible for the inhuman act. Both have confessed that they killed Priyanka for the purpose of black magic. Chandrakala revealed that she forcibly took the child who was playing near her house and after killing her she along with her husband Kamalaksha dumped her in the nearby plantation.

It is said that the child was missing since 3.30 pm yesterday. The irked localites, who were already aware of the couple’s earlier black magic-related cruel acts, went on to demolish their house. People in large number gathered to the spot and were furious with the incident.

Kadri police officials arrived at the spot and carried out investigations. The accused are in police custody. The localites demanded the police to take strict action against the couple and see to it that they don’t reside in the vicinity anymore.

@ Mr Jeet Dubai, if you had given a bit of a thought before commenting, you would have realized that 4 people cannot read/quote the name wrongly.
Fact is in the initial version that was published on Daiji, the name was given as Vimala. Later it was changed to Chandrakala. Hope this clarifies.

Culprits should be hanged but our system will ensure that there are few more sacrifices before any critical action. Probably the child will have to come and give the testimony.

This is in response to Mr.Melwin's comments cow slaughter is better than human slaughter? I just wonder how some one like you educated person say these things? Do you really have any respect to human life? How can you compare these two thing just to satisfy your ego? Or are you trying to justify the act of cow slaughtering?

None of us know the real reason behind this act...we are all just guessing that the couple may have been guided by someone. Please do not make it a religious issue instead express your sympathy towards parents who lost their child and think of ways in which we can prevent such things in the future. Its nothing do with Mangalore, it happens in different parts of the country. Its not enough for us to say we are clean let whatever happens to the neighbour. Its about educating people against these rituals. Each religion has its own belief and rituals so it is the society that needs to support each other at such crisis to strengthen the person in sorrow rather than blaming the 'guru' or the 'mata'. None of the religious leaders can stop this unless the mass is educated. All preaching goes in vain when there is an evil person influencing you to do the act with some purpose. ALL EDUCATED MEN AND WOMEN OF INDIA PLEASE STOP ACCUSING EACH OTHER'S RELIGION WHEN THINGS GO WRONG. These beleifs are not documented in any epics but they were practiced in the past by so called evil men and women.

It is very hard to comment on
    such horrible and terrifying
news. The precious 3 year old
child of the family is gone for
ever, and the parents are going to
live in pain for the rest of their
    life.

    The murders don't deserve any
sympathy, they need to be punished
in the public for the grave sin of
    human sacrifice of somebody's
    innocent child.

But another issue has to be
addressed now. Why did they do
such an horrible murder of the
    innocent child? They have been
    influenced by some wicked
    person with a "religious outfit"
    and brainwashed the people. Find
them also, and give a deserving
    punishment by keeping them in
prison for the rest of their lives.

    Some people sacrifice their own
    children by listening to the
    spiritual advice of some evil
    "gurus", yet some other kidnap
    somebody's most precious children
to sacrifice. We all need to be
    ashamed, because this happend in
    front of us.

    Dear All,
"The sacrifices pleasing to God are a broken and contrite heart". Please sacrifice broken and contrite hearts about this

matter to God and stand up in confident non-violence, against violence.
Please let's examine our own rage about this act so it doesn't spill out in wrong directions (even against each other, as

sometimes happens in article comments). Looks like those who destroyed the house acted in fury against the evil, but didn't

attack humans (life). Uncaring attitudes towards Life & Good grow when violence is not responded to, but a violent response

against people would only support it.
(if anyone finds my words foolish, i'd request please reflect on the goal not me)

These kind of people who lead a abnormal kind of life must be noted and society must make efforts to check them out. Sacrifice in any form is codemned be it animal or human . We as intellectual and social beings have to think that everyone here lives just like another person. A child has equal rights to live as the same of an adult. Whether the act is performed by Mangaloreans or biharis is irrelevant it is not the place that makes a human being but characters inbuilt in us cannot be changed by changing the place of residence .
If the natives had an idea of the couple performing black magic why were they silent ? Common guys lets accept the fact that we all make hue and cry but we donot want to change. It is easier said than done .
