Bengaluru, Jan 29: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Governor Thawar Chand Ghelhot visited the residence of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Saturday and consoled him on the death of his grand-daughter Dr Soundarya.

Tourism Minister Anand Singh accompanied the Chief Minister and the Governor during their visit to Cauvery. BJP’s Shivamogga MP BY Raghavendra was also present at the occasion.

Impact Assessment for Success of Food Park

The Chief Minister later held a review meeting of the Karnataka Food Corporation and instructed the officials to carry out impact assessment of the 4 food parks established by the government at Bagalakote, Hiriyur, Malur and Jewargi to ensure their success.

Allotment of land, equity and all other issues must be reviewed and suitable decisions taken, the Chief Minister said and promised to consider sanctioning of Rs 26 crore grant for the food parks after consulting the Finance Department.

Agriculture Miniser BC Patil, BJP MP Shivakumar Udasi, MLC YA Narayanaswamy, Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner Vandita Sharma, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N Manjunath Prasad, Food Corporation Chairman Dr ISN Prasad, Agriculture Department Principal Secretary Umashankar, Horticulture and Sericulture Department Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar Kataria and other senior officials attended the meeting.
