Bantwal, Jan 31: The police took into custody some Campus Front of India (CFI) activists, who had come together to hold a protest on Sunday January 30. They had planned to hold the said protest at Vittal on the occasion of Martyrs Day, the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's assassination in 1948.

The activists had planned to hold this protest near the old bus stand at Vittal with the motto, 'RSS which killed Gandhi'. The police came there and took the protestors into custody.

The police took the activists into possession as prior permission from the police for the protest was not obtained, it is said. The police who took the protestors to the police station later released them.
