CM urges people not to waste water but use judiciously

Bengaluru, Jan 31: Ahead of the imminent elections to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday, Januatry 31 launched a series of developmental programmes in the Krishnarajapuram Assembly Constituency in HAL Jagadish Nagar area in city, including dedication of 7.55 lakh million litre capacity underground water storage facility.

Speaking at the function after the dedication and inauguration of developmental schemes in the area, Bommai urged the people not to waste water and use it judiciously.

The underground water storage facility will feed nine major localities in the KR Puram Assembly Constituency.

The Chief Minister complimented Urban Development Minister Byrathi Basavaraj and said he has been taking keen interest on developmental works not only in his constituency but in the State as well.

Apart from Byarathi Basavaraj, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr K Sudhakar and Cooperation Minister S T Somashekar, BBMP Administrator Rakesh Singh and Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta attended the function.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the establishment of a100-bed maternal and pediatric hospital and distributed Rs 1 lakh to 95 BPL families, whose members had died due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Bommai also distributed ownership documents to some of beneficiaries symbolically under the programme for construction of 1 lakh multi-storied apartments through the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation.

The Chief Minister also received a memorandum from the Swamijis belonging to Backward Classes under the leadership of Sri Nirajanandapura Mahaswamy of Kanakagru Peetha, which called on him at the official residence.
