Bantwal: Residents lay siege to gram panchayat office over water woes

Bantwal, Feb 2: The residents of Shantinagar under the limits of Sajipa Munnoor gram panchayat laid siege to the gram panchayat office on drinking water issues which is persisting from four days.

From several years, the problem is said to be repeating.

The concerned gram panchayat member is not responding, alleged the women of the village.

The gram panchayat development officer Ayishi Bhanu who arrived to the spot said that funds are reserved for the permanent solution for the drinking water issues of Shanthinagar. It is under the action plan. She also assured to settle water problem by evening after which the protest ended.
