Bengaluru, Feb 2: Former Congress MLA Ashok Pattana, has been served with a show cause notice by K Rehaman Khan, president of the Congress disciplinary committee, seeking explanation from him about the derogatory remarks he made about Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar, when whispering to former chief minister, Siddaramaiah. Their conversation however, was without their knowledge, carried aloud by the microphones which were already operational.

The notice has sought Ashok to explain within seven days for talking ill of D K Shivakumar and for having talked in a way that damaged his standing and reputation. It drew his attention to the fact that the media had carried out his private conversation, as he did not take care not to use such a language against the party leaders. Khan also said that the party condemns the contents of the issues Ashok raised in his whisper, which he said were baseless and untrue.

Supporters of Pulakeshinagar MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy, had met Siddaramaiah and lamented that a conspiracy was on to deny ticket to Murthy in the election. Ashok had discussed this issue in an informal chat with Siddaramaiah in which Shivakumar was accused of certain things. The video of the conversation had been widely circulated. The disciplinary committee has served notice seeking an explanation after a long gap.
