Mangaluru: Car driver killed in unfortunate accident

Mangaluru, Feb 3: After a car dashed against a tempo traveller vehicle that was parked by the roadside, the driver of the car lost his life. This incident happened on Mangaladevi - Monkey stand road on Wednesday February 2.

The deceased was Muhammed Sharif Ismail (57), a resident of Pandeshwar. Ismail was driving his tourist car on the road leading to Monkey stand from the direction of Mangaladevi here at around 12.15 pm when his car hit the left rear side of the parked tempo traveller vehicle after which it scaled the footpath before coming to a stop. The seriously injured Ismail was taken to a private hospital but he had breathed his last before reaching there.

A case in this connection was registered in the city east police station.
