Vokkaligas must develop entrepreneurial culture, says Ashwath

Bengaluru, Feb 5: The Vokkaliga community, which has made a mark in the field of agriculture, must also develop entrepreneurial culture and must gain expertise in trade and business, Higher Education and Skill Development, IT/BT Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan said in Bengaluru on Saturday.

Inaugurating the First Circle organisation under the aegis of Negilayogi Samajseva Trust, he said the Vokkaliga must not be solely dependent on subsidy and other incentives based agriculture but be proficient on marked based economy.

The Minister said the State Government has launched the Krishikalpa scheme to promote Coconut and Mango value addition products and it should be extended to other districts so that a larger number of farmers reap the benefit.

Navodaya Vision Group Chief Prashant Prakash, Jayaram Raipur, Ravikumar and others were present.
