Udupi: Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary seeks more in budget for social welfare

Udupi, Feb 7: “The chief minister will be requested to allocate double the amount in the current budget for the department of backward classes and social welfare when compared to the last budget,” said state minister of backward classes and social welfare Kota Srinivas Poojary.

Speaking to media persons in Udupi on Monday, February 7, he said that the amount was reduced last time due to Covid. “The amount was between Rs 3,500 Crore and Rs 4,000 crore. The chief minister will be requested for double that amount this time,” he added.
