Bantwal, Feb 8: “The undivided district of Dakshina Kannada is a holy district. It has given opportunity for people of all religions to live in harmony. This district is renowned for culture and education in addition to pilgrimage centers. The people of this district have preserved the ancestry, religion and culture. People of this district are role model to the whole state. You people are living in unity, though some differences are seen now. At last only faith, love and belief will remain and humanity will be victorious,” said KPCC president D K Shivakumar.

Shivakumar was speaking as chief guest in the Pratista Mahotsav of new Ekashila Manasthambopari Chturmukha 1008 Sri Adinatha Theerthankara panchakalyana that is built near Baleshwara of Panjikallu of Bantwal taluk.

Shivakumar further said, “Magnificent Jain Basadi is built here. Let Adinatha Swamy bless everyone who has given cooperation in this holy work.”

Former minister Ramanath Rai said, “Though the Jain community is small, it is strong. In the present situation the ideology of nonviolence is very much required. Let a society that is non-violent be built in future.”

Dr Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Panditacharyavarya Mahaswamy of Moodbidri Jain Math gave the blessings. The programme was presided over by D Surendra Kumar, national working president of Bharatiya Jain Milan.

Sudarshan Jain, president of Panchakalyana Mahotsava committee welcomed the gathering and did the introductory speech. Journalist Namita Jain compered the programme and rendered vote of thanks.
