Chikkamagaluru: Suspended Sringeri tahsildar faces criminal case

Chikkamagaluru, Feb 8: Sringeri tahsildar, Ambuja, who was raided by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and jailed, now faces criminal case. A criminal case against her was registered in Sringeri police station.

Tahsildar designate, S V Prasad, filed this complaint against Ambuja, accusing her of illegally issuing title deeds under sections 94 c and 94 cc of Karnataka Land Revenue Act 1964.

Ambuja had functioned as Sringeri tahsildar from May 11, 2020 to January 6, 2022. She has been accused of violating rules and illegally disposing of applications under the above sections of the law. She also has been accused of not following law and rules, and taking decisions without scrutiny, without briefing or holding discussions with the higher authorities and dealing with files illegally by transgressing procedures.
