Kasargod, Feb 8: The decomposed body of Shivanand alias Shivaj (35), a worker of Jharkhand origin, found to have been buried inside a farm at Kaniyala Sudembala within the limits of Manjeshwar police station, was subjected to post-mortem at Kasargod general hospital on Monday February 7.

The initial reports have assessed that the worker was not murdered. The police said that a clearer picture will emerge on Tuesday when another report is expected. It is suspected that he might have drowned in water or electrocuted.

To arrive at an accurate conclusion, testing of viscera is needed. Further steps will be taken after the full post mortem report is received, the police said.

The body of the worker, who died of unknown reasons, had been buried secretly in a farm by the owner of the house and other workers. The incident came to light after about one and half months and the body was exhumed on Sunday.
