CM asks Rajnath Singh to permit handing over of Sangolli Rayanna Sainik School to Society

Bengaluru, Feb 8: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has urged Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to permit transfer of the Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna Sainik School at Sangolli in Belagavi district to the Sainik School Society.

The State Government has taken up the Rs 189 crore project for establishing the Sangolli Rayanna Sainik School.

Bommai, who called on the Union Defence Minister in New Delhi on Tuesday, informed Rajnath Singh that the Sainik School construction work is in the final stages. The Sainik School Society officials and a committee headed by Belagavi Deputy Commissioner have already visited to inspect the construction work. The work has been carried out in accordance with the norms prescribed for Sainik School, the Chief Minister said.

Bommai also presented a booklet on the achievements and performance of his government during the last six months. He apprised the Union minister of the benefits of the various programmes implemented by the government for the welfare of the poor and other deprived sections.

The Chief Minister also presented a copy of the ISEC study report on the various programmes implemented by the government to Rajnath Singh.

State Water Resources Minister Govind M Karjol, State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP MPs Shivakumar Udasi and Umesh Jadhav accompanied the Chief Minister.

Meeting with Legal Experts on Inter-State Water Disputes

The Chief Minister held a meeting with legal experts on Inter-State Water Disputes and Karnataka’s stand on the court cases pending before Supreme Court.

Water Resources Minister Govind Karjol, Law and Minor Irrigation Minister JC Madhuswamy, Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar, Advocate General Prabhulinga Navadgi, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N Manjunath Prasad and other senior officials attended the meeting.
