Bengaluru, Feb 18: Considering the growth potential of the Electric Vehicle (EV) sector in the near future, the ‘Orientation cum Registration and Placement opportunity in EV’ programme was launched in Malleswaram in Bengaluru on Friday, February 18.
This includes training related to EV, free of cost.
Inaugurating the programme, Dr C N Aswhath Narayan, Higher Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister, said the EV sector creates many opportunities such as battery swapping, setting up of charging stations, etc.
The programme is being jointly organised by Malleswaram Skill Centre, Narayana Training Centre, and Dr C N Ashwath Narayan Foundation.
Along with skills related to EV, the centre also provides training on BPO, Soft Skills, Software Developing, Accounts Executive, Facing Interview etc. the minister said.
The State Government is committed to nurturing entrepreneurship and making youth skilled in new-age technologies. This would help to grab the emerging job opportunities.
Karnataka, the 4th largest Startup hub in the entire world, is already creating a lot of job opportunities and youth across the country are migrating to the city of Bengaluru, Dr Narayan explained.
The National Education Policy (NEP-2020) also emphasises imparting skills to the students. Keeping this in mind, MoU has been established with Infosys Springboard, which enables providing about 1200 types of skill sets to students free of cost.
To provide easy access to quality education, the teaching-learning process has been digitalized. In the next state, the teaching-learning process will be taken one step forward, by making it Virtual, he said.
An artificial intelligence based technological platform will be developed which would automatically update information for job seekers about employment opportunities.
Collaboration with startups
In order to create and expand economic opportunities for women of self-help groups by facilitating marketing platforms, Sanjeevini-KSRLPS (Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Promotion Society) inked 4 MoUs with 3 Startups on Friday.
The MoUs include MoUs with 1Bridge, Captain Fresh and KultureStreet were exchanged in presence of Dr Narayana.
Out of two MoUs with 1Bridge, one will enable on-boarding SHG products of Sanjeevini into the e-commerce platform which is expected to benefit 500 to 1000 SHG Entrepreneurs.
Further, it facilitates the delivery of SHG products from villages to distant customers. The other intends to create additional income opportunities for BC (banking correspondent) Sakhis, the Minister explained.
MoU with Captain Fresh- a B2B platform- facilitates to deliver the farm produces from farmers to the retail business realm in the fastest manner.
MoU with Kulture Street- an e-commerce company, will benefit SHG artisans, especially artisans making Terracotta and Leather puppets to get good prices. KultureStreet will also support artisans in technology up-gradation and new design innovation.
On the occasion, the Minister announced the adoption of 100 SHG Women Enterprises of the state by TiE, a Business Networking Company. Under this, TiE will provide customised and dedicated mentoring to 100 SHG Enterprises for a period of 1 year. TiE Bengaluru will also ensure technical assistance to the selected enterprises.
The Minister also announced the Sanjeevini – KSRLPS Start-up Challenge 2022 which aims to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among both SHGs and Startups and to ensure the creation of investible ideas.
The competition will be open to all registered Startups in Karnataka and will cover software and internet-based innovations in the realms of e-commerce, logistics, rural development, agriculture, animal husbandry, branding and merchandising etc.
