Mangaluru: Rajapur, Bhalavalikar Saraswath Brahmin Samaj leaders visit World Konkani Centre

Mangaluru, Feb 22: The leaders of Rajapur/Bhalavalikar Saraswath Brahmin Samaj visited the World Konkani Centre on Tuesday, February 22 and acquainted themselves with the projects and programmes of the Centre.

Nandagopal Shenoy, president, Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Prathistan, World Konkani Centre, welcomed the guests and honoured them with shawls. In his welcome address, he expressed great happiness in receiving dignitaries of the RSB Samaj at World Konkani Centre. He also reiterated the vision of the founder Late Basti Vaman Shenoy in bringing together all the Konkani speaking communities under one umbrella.

Gokuldas Nayak, president, RSB Sangha, Manipal expressed his happiness in the home coming of the RSB Samaj to the World Konkani Centre. He thanked Pradeep G Pai, secretary, Vishwa Konkani Scholarship and the World Konkani Centre for supporting hundreds of RSB students in their education by way of Vishwa Konkani Scholarship programme. On behalf of the RSB Samaj, he extended cooperation and involvement in all future activities, programmes and projects of the Centre.

Gurudath Bantwalkar, CEO, World Konkani Centre, apprised the gathering about the projects and programmes of the World Konkani Centre. B R Bhat, treasurer and Dr P Devadas Pai, research director present on the occasion and recieved the guests.

Altogether 26 alumni and scholars of Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Programme belonging to RSB Samaj attended the programme from world over through Virtual Meetup and shared their experiences of Scholarship and Training Programmes they received in World Konkani Centre all these years. Sahana Kini, Vishwa Konkani Scholarship coordinator, moderated the alumni meetup.

S R Sathishchandra, president, Saraswathi Souharda Sahakari, Puttur, interacted with the Alumni members and expressed happiness on the societal commitment of the Alumni of Vishwa Konkani Scholarship Programme.

The guests visited the Smt Vimala and Shri T V Raman Pai Hostel, Smt Lakshmi and Shri V Nandagopal Shenoy Live Stream Studio, Smt and Shri Andaru Vittala Kini World Konkani Hall of Fame, Vidya Varidhi Library and other facilities of World Konkani Centre.
