Mangalore: Beary Sahitya Academy ‘Mehendi’, Cooking Contests on Feb 6

Mangalore, Feb 3: The Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy will organize ‘Mehendi’ and cooking competitions as well as a Beary cultural evening at Kadri Park on Sunday February 6 at 3.00 pm.
The competitions are only for women and the time allowed for Mehendi competition is 20 minutes. The Mehendi mixture must be brought by participants and they can draw art on the palm of another woman. Those who participate in the cooking contest must bring their preparation of Beary cuisine and delicacies to the venue to be rated by the judges.
Academy president M B Abdul Rehman will preside over the stage programme.
Mangala Magical Circle president Swarna Sundar will distribute the prizes to the winners of various competitions.
Veteran lawyer Saduddin Salih will release the Academy’s quarterly ‘Belkiri’ magazine during the programme. The cultural evening of Beary folklore will be staged by Perfect Oppune troupe.
