Mangalore: Theft in City Apartment – Ornaments Worth Rs 1.05 Lac Stolen

Mangalore, Feb 3: Thieves made good their entry into flat No. 103 of Adwaith Apartment located near Goddess Bhagawati Temple in Kodiyalguttu area in the city on the night of Tuesday February 1, and decamped with gold ornaments valued at Rs 1.05 lac.

The owner of the said apartment, Jeevan Kumar M, had left for Kondevoor near Uppala along with family members at around 7.30 pm on Tuesday, to take part in a function. On his return home at around 9.30 am on Wednesday, he found the front door lock broken.

In a complaint, Jeevan Kumar has said that the thieves broke open the lock of the front door of his apartment, and then forced open the lock of a cupboard in the bedroom, from where a few gold ornaments were stolen. He has put the value of the lost ornaments at Rs 1.05 lac.

A case has been registered in Barke police station. Investigation is on.
